80’s Music Rules ~ More from Retrospect CFRC-FM ~ 02-24-09

cfrc-fm1

Sizzlin’ hot, Ed-FM turned up the heat a few degrees last night. He came out of the gate full tilt with the Payola$ and ended on a high note with Vicious Pink’s “Cccan’t You See.” Where else can you be entertained and have an enjoyable 80’s music lesson all rolled into one? I was batting way less than .500 in my attempts to ID the songs/artists. I should know better than to try to outsmart the Master of Obscure 80’s.

Be sure to tune in to Ed and his spectacular 80’s Retrospect show on CFRC-FM from 8 pm until 10 pm on Tuesday nights. Ed takes requests by phone: (613) 533-CFRC (2372) or email: retrospectcfrc at yahoo dot ca. Indulge yourself in some “80’s Music that doesn’t suck.” I guarantee die-hard 80’s New Wave/post-punk fans will not be disappointed.

  2. Heya (((((e-mann))))))

I have to say, I think Tuesday night was my first time hearing the Comateens. I am really enjoying the “new” groups I am hearing on Ed’s show. Between him and Marsden, all the 80’s musical gaps are slowly beginning to fill in for me.

    Cheers!

  3. Another cool electro-synth-pop artist from the early 1980s was Thomas Leer. He had a nice batch of tunes. I’m sure Ed will spin something by him on an upcoming show. “Letter From America” got some spins on college radio 25 years ago.

  4. Now Thomas Leer I’ve heard of – I have the singles, “International”, “Private Plane,” and “Heartbeat” – great stuff! The gauntlet has been thrown down….will Ed take up the challenge? 😉

    Thanks again, eMann….you *rock*!

  5. Hi Glen,

Yep, another one that I’d never heard. I have several tunes by Chalk Circle, but that one was a first – always a thrill!
