80’s Music Rules ~ More from Retrospect CFRC-FM ~ 12-30-08

Last night’s “Retrospect” show boasted a sizzling playlist — just the medicine needed for a dreary winter night (not that I would know about that here in Florida). If you missed it, be sure to tune in to CFRC  for Ed-FM and his show next Tuesday night from 8-10:00 pm for some “80’s Music that Doesn’t Suck.”

  1. Wow, the Flying Lizards, The The, The Trees, bands I haven’t heard in quite a few years.

How’s the WordPress thing going? I’m getting mine figured out. If you need any help, let me know. If you decide to go with your own host (raveandroll.com or something like that) I can help with that as well.

  2. Heya Robert! Between David Marsden and Ed-FM, I get a healthy dose of obscure and truly wonderful music. 🙂

WordPress is great – it works a little differently than Blogger, but I’m feeling more at home here. Thank you for your kind offer. If I ever decide to be queen of my own domain, I’ll certainly give you a holler. Meanwhile, a very Healthy and Happy New Year to you and yours.

  3. Hi Marilyn,

I’ll have to look into that as I keep running into users from time to time. I guess the appeal for me with both David Marsden and Ed-FM is the DJs’ personalities, plus the history lessons they give with some of the tracks. Otherwise, I have playlists made up on my hard drive that keep me entertained. 🙂 Not too terribly high-tech, but it works.

All the best to you in 2009,

  4. All the best to you, Ed. If it wasn’t for folks like you, some very wonderful music would never get airplay. All I can do is to help in some small way by promoting the good stuff that I hear that others can easily access online. So far, David Marsden and you are my two favorite online DJs. Because of you two, and because of my many brother and sister bloggers who write up a storm about little-known musical gems, 2009 promises to be a spectacular year!

  5. See Miss P? This like is why all these people (and many more) are glad you didn’t let the dreaded hun get the best of you. Happy New Year to you and yours from me and mine!

  6. You’re one of the *biggest* reasons I’m still around. 🙂 Plus, I can always depend on you to drop a spent rocket booster on whomever tries to make my life miserable. All the best to my favorite Floridian.

  7. Heya Jason,

Just got through writing *about* you – check out the latest post. 🙂

I agree – and I think David does a good job of mixing it up. Ed’s show is strictly obscure 80’s and I love it because that’s my favorite time in music. Although (and as I said about you) I learn a lot about current music from your blog. Cheers! xo
